The snowman

In that place he only knows,
the walls feel like a womb, warm and safe
there is no sunset or sunrise
to remind him of a name he wants no more
The life yet to be is ushered away, unwelcome.
That is where he wants to spend his days
in the softness of the night
Yet, his heart twinkles when a thought
of me visits him
He pens out rhyme after rhyme to deafen the heartbeat
In his chest, ripped open by a good bye.
Pretend that you did not see it.
I will take the snow in the farewell and make
a snowman with a carrot as his nose
I will stay besides the snowman and makel him feel
the fire of Africa, and the blazing forest, it will melt away
The snowman of my goodbye is gone. Come out and see.
Please, do not hurt.
